Has anyone gotten the new Grid-Server plan from Media Temple? Even though I am still completely satisfied with Site5 as our host, I will admit that (mt) has me quite curious. I'd love to hear some evangelism.

I'm planning on testing one out today. I've got a dedicated XServe I use at the moment, but for handling email, and other things like that, as well as staging small Rails apps, it's hard to turn that down at $20/mo.

Hey Zack,
I ordered and started playing with it today. So far it's been awesome, just setup a Rails "container" and it was pretty simple. Haven't tested the performance too much but it looks pretty stable. I'll shoot you an email later with a better review. I also like some small things, like the ability to manage the database externally, Webmail, and SSH for every user (as an option). -

Hey yeah, I've had it since this past summer (I was a beta tester). There were some small problems early on with RMagik that I never got a good answer on, but it wasn't a show stopper.
More recently, it seems that they're a couple versions behind with Gem which causes issues for Rails 1.2.2 which has caused a couple headaches, but there is a way to upgrade if you don't mind jumping through a couple hoops.
All in all, a great service. Hard to beat the price and (mt)'s control panel.
