This is the first entry in our new weekly series that gives you a look at what has kept us interested and inspired throughout the week.

Nick:

  • We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions - Bruce SpringsteenAlthough, I would buy "Springsteen Sings Sitcom Theme Songs" if he released it, I am really liking this record. The songs on the record are interpretations of Pete Seeger songs recorded in a very raw and spontaneous session. The songs are fun, folky, and surprisingly fresh as Springsteen throws in some contemporary commentary.
  • The Tipping PointI just finished reading this book for a second time and found it even more valuable. I recommend this book for just about anyone as its perspectives can be applied across the board. There is an interesting idea on almost every page and it is written in a very engaging style. Author Malcolm Gladwell also now has a blog.
  • Tipping the FunnelAnother recent re-read and something we linked to a few posts back, this free e-book by Seth Godin is a great piece. It has some very interesting ideas that everyone developing a web application (or really any product or service) should understand. As always, Godin keeps it interesting with his great writing style. Check out his other books as well.
  • Harvest - Web-based Time TrackingI just came across this web application (I think it launched a month or two ago) that attempts to solve the issue of time tracking. From what I have used so far, it has potential. The interface is fairly tight and the functionality is there. Furthermore the pricing seems very reasonable. I will have to get back with a more thorough review when I have used it more, but the first impression is solid.
  • Thank You For SmokingI saw this movie last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I had heard a lot about it and was waiting for it to come to the area. Aaron Eckhart was great and overall the movie was a pretty solid satire by writer/director Jason Reitman. The opening credits were also very well done.

Zack:

  • Zombi - Surface to Air - An awesome album I recommended earlier and have been listening to while working all week. Comes out Tuesday.
  • Daltonlp.com - Helped me out with a PNG tranparency problem I was having earlier.
  • Channel 9 IE Bug Listing - It helps to know why IE isn't doing what you'd like it to.
  • Design Melt Down - I've been feeling the need to do some "real" designing lately. This has been a great resource in helping me get better.
  • Mike Davidson's MySpace fun - As much as I hate MySpace and hate all the chatter about it lately, I do appreciate it for the beast that it is. That being said, I was glad to see Mike D. gave his own page a nice little face lift. It inspired me to take some time to play around with my own layout. Sadly, I quickly realized that I had other things to be working on and I could never get mine as pretty as Mike's.

We will be back next week with some more links. And if anyone has anything of their own to share, post a comment. We are shameless information consumers.
