My current phone is falling apart and I've been having problems recently with the quality of my calls (due to my phone falling apart). I love my service (Verizon) and was recently given the opportunity to upgrade my phone and plan a little bit early (about two months before my plan expires). With this opportunity, I also get $100 off select phones from Verizon. There are about 10 or so that I could get for free, but then there is the Motorola Q that I could get for $199. While it probably would be overkill for what I need my phone to be able to do (really, I just need to be able to talk to people), I still think it would be cool to have. It would probably get me to start using more of the SmartPhone features if I had it. I'm a little scared to move away from the flip phone though.
My question to you is: Is it worth the $199? Anyone have one? Should I get it solely for the cool factor and the possibility of using it to its full potential someday? Or should I just get a crappy free phone (that I would be stuck with for another 2 years)? I'd really like to hear everyone else's thoughts on it.
Update: I ended up buying the Q. Thanks to everyone that let me know their thoughts. I'll be sure to do a write up about it soon. I'll do an initial thoughts and then another after I've had it a while.
