Another small billQ update was just pushed live. This update adds a few things that people have been asking for, such as:
- Amount Due SummaryYou can now see the total of all of the bills on your list, and the amount you owe out of that total. So, if you have Rent bill that you only pay a part of, the amount you owe will be slightly less than the total amount for all your bills. This should help give you a better idea of your expenses for the current month.
- More Frequency OptionsThere is now an option to pay your bills Twice a Month or Every Other Week. While they might seem similar, there is a difference. With Twice a Month, you set the two dates of the month that the bill is due(ex. the 1st and the 15th), and for Every Other Week you set the day of the week that the bill starts on (ex. This Monday, or Next Monday).
- Limited Textile In Notes FieldWe now support some basic Textile formatting in the Notes field. Bold, italic, and hyperlinks now work in addition to our old way of handling links. So if you are comfortable using Textile, go for it, if not, just enter your links like before and they will work.
- iCal ImprovementThe iCalendar subscription will now show your bill schedule for the current month and the next month. This should allow you to plan ahead a little if you have a lot of recurring bills.
- Bug Fixes, Validation/Error Checking, and Performace TweaksThere are a bunch of tweaks behind the scenes that fix some lingering bugs. We also have more extensive error checking and form validation should people make a mistake or get creative with data entry. Additionally, scheduled bills have been heavily reworked and now when a shedule is changed, the bills from the old schedule will be removed, preventing duplicates. Things should be running fairly smoothly overall.
If you are not seeing any of these changes make sure to logout, clear your cache, and log back in. And as always, if you run into any problems, send us an email. Thanks to everyone who has been using billQ, spreading the word, and sending us feedback. We do appreciate it.
